Bjergøy, Summer getaway to the Island.
Bjergøy, just home from a summer getaway. A fortnight to get away from the hustle and bustle in daily life. Some time away to recharge the batteries.
The archipelago just outside Stavanger, also called “Sjerner Islands” Sjernarøy, has that effect on me. I sleep like a baby, and the quiet calmness is beyond this world. I love to sit outside and listen to the boats drive by, even the seagulls sounds charming out here.
We are staying in Sjernarøy Maritim located on the Island of Bjergøy. And this is our 3 stay in just over a year. The standard are quite back to basic, or just your typical cabin feel. Wooden floors with wooden walls. Nothing fancy about it. But when you come here, you come for the nature.
The people living out here in the Island are very much part of the slow living and they wish the same for you.. what is the hurry after all. “You city folk, always in a hurry, stress down!”
After staying only one night last time we visited this was the message we got from the owner of Sjernarøy Maritim. And I get him.. We should all stress down a bit more often. There is a big health benefit from doing just so.
