Easter routines
.. And we are back. Back to the Islands of Ryfylke. A archipelago just an hour outside Stavanger in the fjord of Nedstrand. A place we have been coming every year for a long time now. In summer time this is pure heaven but even now in easter and early spring despite rain, grey weathers and the chill is is peaceful charming.
This is the second year we celebrate parts of our easter holiday here, but we always make sure we come back in summer time. Ski and the mountain is for Norwegians the equivalent to Easter, as is chocolate and Oranges and do not forget the easter crime. Be so on tv or the good easter holiday mysteria by book…. Just a few of the weird traditions we have for easter!
I am not that enthusiastic about snow and being cold. Let´s face it, I belong on the beach with a cold drink.. Sjernaroy maritim may not be the beach and it is way to cold to go for a dip. But it is a great getaway for Easter!
None the less it is always good to take a little breather from my usual sitting room and we hit the road to Stjerner Island and spent a couple of nights at the marina where we rented a cabin by the lake. Good to smell the ocean and enjoy some outdoor times.
Day one was perfect, day two not so much but we still made it outside taking a small stroll/hike in between the drizzle of rain. Exploring the small Island. It inhabits no more than 1000 people
We are lucky back in Norway the easter holiday is one extended day that brings us up to 5 days of free from work. This is a perfect excuse for take a trip somewhere if you ask me. And if you plan ahead you can even enjoy your easter holiday somewhere warm! Maybe next year you will find me somewhere exotic… a girl can only hope….
Easter has now come to an end but ahead lies many many exciting months. Spring is in the air! But firstly tomorrow it is back to work!.
