Stay: Hanza Hotel, Gdansk
Hanza Hotel in the heart of the historical old town overlooking the river Motlawa. A 4 star boutique hotel with supreme location just footsteps away from Gdansk´s most famous landmark the medieval crane. This would be your perfect stay for a weekend getaway.
Gdansk is probably Poland’s most pretty city.. at least if you ask me. I was lucky to stay here for two days and those days made me wanna come back for even more.
For our discovery of the historical center Hanza Hotel it could not have been more perfect. The location is right in the center and you have the river just outside the hotel and at the entrance a quiet street.
“Zafishowani means people crazy about fish and good food. Come. Make yourself at home. Let’s get crazy about fish.”
The restaurant Zafishowani is were we eat our breakfast and at dinner time they have their main focus on different fish dishes. I had no time to try their fancy dinner but if the food is any or just as good as the breakfast you are in for a treat.
I stayed here during mid May and the Hanza Hotel was not still quiet. Eating and getting seated was a pleasant experience. I loved the big variety of breakfast choices from you normal continental to your typical Polish dishes. A few table was taken and also these guest were Scandinavian.
A big table serves as the buffet area and it is beautifully decked with a lot of great choices for breakfast. All looking very inviting.
I went easy on breakfast as we had a feast ahead of us, read all about it here.
If you are staying at Hanza Hotel for the full weekend I would recommend trying out their SPA, I had no such luck this time around but this is a Hotel I can easily recommend and would very much like to come back to. First of all because of the location but also because of the great service and standard of the rooms. A very lovely little Hotel indeed.
