Stay: Reichshof Hotel Hamburg. A touch of old school glamour!
I love when a Hotel have a story to tell. And Reichshof Hamburg certainly do.
Built in 1910, closed down in 2014 and reopened in fresh new dressing. But still keeping the old charm intact in July 2015. The Reichshof Hotel Hamburg have done a great remodelling but still keeping the history intact. And I love it.
I am greeted by a friendly staff in the early mornings. My room not quite ready yet but I am eager to head out to explore the Christmas market, to awake to rest.
I usually don´t ask much when I stay over at a Hotel. But I do prefer the updated and modern look over the old look. Reichshof have done a perfect update on their room but have kept much of the charming old details that make the history of the Hotel but still making it a fresh and luxury feeling.
Perfectly situated at the center of Hamburg. Cross the street and you have the main train station. And the main shopping area are just behind the station. All in a 5-10 minutes walk from the Hotel.
The rooms are all the same art Deco typed room but different in size.
The entrance holds the Slowman Restaurant and Bar. Even a proper afternoon tea are served here. I was going for one at the day at departure. But unfortunately I ran out of time and could not make it. A very cool feature are the TV screens above the bar. In the evening you will find a band playing the lounge music.
My stay at the Reichshof Hotel Hamburg was a collaboration between NordicTB and Hamburg Tourism. Making the post for #HolyHamburg #ChristmasInHamburg. Pictures and text are however as always my own.
