Stay: Saga Hotel – Oslo, Norway
It is early January and I am heading up for a weekend getaway to Oslo. Rarely have I seen a subway station this quiet as we are making our way to our stay at Saga Hotel.
Easiest way to get to the Hotel are by taking the train from the airport to the National Teater stop. From this stop you either jump in a taxi or you can walk for approximately 15 minutes. We opted for the Taxi – way easier.
Located on the corner you have the cute little Saga Hotel. Even though we are early we are greeted and get our room straight up. Making it time for a quick little unpacking and and fixer upper before we are heading out into the crisp sunny winter morning.
The hotel have 47 rooms making it a rather small one compared to other City hotels. Just how I like it. Our standard double room with a soft bed, Iron board and Nespresso coffee maker are not big, but it is not a tiny one either. Just perfect. And a really fresh bathroom.
Saga Hotel have got it´s own restaurant, fangst (translated to catch) located in the basement. Nordic local ingredients meet Japanese cooking. Seems to get a lot of good credit´s but unfortunately I did not get to test it this time around.
Breakfast is served in the same room as the evening restaurant. Small intimate and nicely decorated. Good selections of both warm and cold and choices for everybody. I loved Saga Hotel´s breakfast.
Saga Hotel have done a great job decorating this old building. They have kept the old charm. Added some picture from the area the building was built
Don´t feel like hanging around in your room? There is really no need. Spend some time at the downstairs lounge bar..
This weekend have gone by to fast. And staying here was such a great choice.
Thanks for making our stay a really pleasant one. Just a few blocks away from the royal gardens and Castle making it a very perfect quiet corner of the city .
