Stay: Waterhead Hotel
Finally I am exploring outside of London and can I just say that heading to the Lake District was a good choice. And finding the Waterhead hotel an even better.
We came for a lovely spring weekend. The Waterhead Hotel is fabulously situated almost on the egde of lake Windermere. Perfect for a roadtrip weekend around Lake District. The view are stunning and especially on those quiet mornings when it is just you and the lake.
We even had to have the all english Afternoon tea in the garden. yummy.
Waterhead Hotel is part of the English Lake group. They have a total of 5 hotel spread around Lancaster and Lake District. The Waterhead is a 4 star Boutique hotel with a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. The service are outstanding always doing the best they can do for us.
With 41 rooms and a fairly adult visitors. Many married couple come here to enjoy their weekend getaway. The hotel sits just a stones throw away from the Lake (Lake Windermere) and it takes just minutes to walk down to the ferry docks of the Windermere Cruises for a Lake cruise.
The rooms are stylishly and classical decorated. Carpeted floors and bathrooms with a bathtub

The Waterhead Hotel has parking although not very many places are available. But you find a big public parking next door with nice prices.
The Hotels restaurant are very good. Their breakfast was really lavish. With both warm and cold meals. All in all I had a great stay. Good sleeps and great food.
With the locations being close to a various nice things to see when you visit Lake District. Half a mile outside Ambleside you will find your self in calming surroundings.
