My Easter getaway

It´s getting close to easter and normally we would spend our easter holiday in sweden. At least we have been for the past three years. I usually refer to this lovely getaway as my cabin. This year we will spend time at home with our family, but it does not make me stop from longing back.

The Lodge is located just over an hours drive from Malmö airport and Copenhagen, or to be specific at Romelåsen which is a small hight in Skåne, sweden. I came upon this small lodge many years ago while reading in a interior magazine and fell head over heal – this was a place I wanted to visit some time in my future. And so it came to be by coincidence three years ago while on a road holiday with my boyfriend.

The lodge is decorated in New England style and sits completely alone on this small hill top. The hotel want´s to be different and only have 22 room divided by one main building and 9 cabins. All meals are served in their lounge area

It may not be all that easy to find this place on it´s own unless you have visited before. A GPS is highly recommended. The Hotel sits majestically on a hilltop with fantastic views over Genarp and the area surrounded. They brag of  having a full view of 8 kilometers from their deck. This place screams romance and relaxation. The perfect place to recharge and just enjoy

We have been taken good care of on all off our visits to The Lodge Resort. Fantastic wine and dine. And the reason we have visited have been to recharge, be romantic and to relax and enjoy. All food they serve are based on local goods and are changed during the season to have the freshest local dining experience.

Afternoon tea in the lounge have greeted us every time during arrival, check in is at 1500. If the weather is good and allows it you may enter the big deck and sit for some sun soaking and enjoy the peace and quiet. But if the weather is kind of cold there is nothing like huddling up under a nice blanket and enjoying the sounds of the fireplace. There is always a cup of tea or coffee available with a small snack buffet.

The rooms are simply decorated but the bed is good. I can not remember having a single bad night here. Weather this is due to the surroundings or the fresh air I don´t know. You spend most of your time in the main building – it is more cozy down here. Bring your good book, order a glass of wine and just relax. You should also remember to back some good hiking shoes and a good jacket – the area offers nice hiking opportunities.

At each visit we always book the spa pack. This enables us to visit the spa lounge at a certain time a day. It includes the outside spa pool, a sauna and a quiet area with a fireplace and some fresh snack. I have also booked a 1 1/2 hour neck and back massage. Oh my, will deffently book this one again. The Logde Resort offers a nice selection of eco and local produced products from DarmaZone to be bought at the hotel and the spa.

After a relaxing hour of massaging bubbles and a warm fireplace with fresh fruit and then we are ready for dinner time.

At evening a 4 course meal awaits you. To bad I haven´t gotten to take better pictures of the lovely food, but we have been served creamy mushroom soup. deer, lamb, local cheese and a variety of desserts. All food are inspired by the swedish fauna and the waiters are good with their wine. They all know which wine goes best to what food.
